459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I created the <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">game design<\/span><\/strong> and adjusted it over the course of the <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">playtests<\/span><\/strong> and project requirements. As it was a <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">serious game<\/span><\/strong>, I had to be careful to make the mechanics fit the purpose of the topic.<br>However, the biggest challenge was to <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">communicate<\/span><\/strong> with the <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">sponsors<\/span><\/strong> who were not from the video game industry. We had to <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">adapt ourselves<\/span><\/strong>, explain clearly our propositions so that everyone would agree on the direction to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fabrice-roisne.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Icons-16.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-565\" width=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fabrice-roisne.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Icons-16.png 459w, https:\/\/fabrice-roisne.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Icons-16-300x100.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I completed the programming alone, and developed the <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">local multiplayer<\/span><\/strong> of the game, playable on both <span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>keyboard<\/strong><\/span> and <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">controller<\/span><\/strong>. It was a <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">research<\/span><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">thinking<\/span><\/strong> task. I had to put myself in the players&#8217; shoes and think about how they would feel. It was necessary to push the <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">interactions<\/span><\/strong> between them so that cooperation would work, and balance the quantity of actions to be done for both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"> <strong>Encountered difficulties<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#9d9df4\" class=\"has-background has-text-align-center\">Keeping the <span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>team motivated<\/strong><\/span> on a project with strong <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">constraints<\/span><\/strong>. Our artists had a hard time getting involved when they saw their proposals systematically rejected by the sponsors. We had to be <span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>understanding<\/strong><\/span> with them, and show them that even if we couldn&#8217;t do everthing as we hoped, we could still create something good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">The game, cooperation at hospital<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The players manage a <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">hospital<\/span><\/strong>. Their role: to <span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>treat<\/strong><\/span> patients and <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">take care<\/span><\/strong> of the resulting <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">medical waste<\/span><\/strong> as cleanly as possible <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><code><div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-default su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Learn more<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\"><\/code>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#dcdcff\" class=\"has-background has-text-align-center\"><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>Patients<\/strong><\/span> come from the left of the screen. To <span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>cure<\/strong><\/span> them, the watcher (on the right) has to give the <span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>right tools<\/strong><\/span> to the healer (on the left) by puting them on the <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">conveyor belt<\/span><\/strong>. When a patient is cured, <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">waste<\/span><\/strong> is created. The healer has to give them to the watcher so that he can <span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>trash<\/strong><\/span> them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"594\" height=\"332\" src=\"http:\/\/fabrice-roisne.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/ccure2.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-401\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#9d9df4\" class=\"has-background has-text-align-center\">Some waste is <span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\"><strong>infectious<\/strong><\/span> and cannot be simply trashed at the risk of degrading the <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">environment<\/span><\/strong> which can be seen outside the window. They must be <strong><span style=\"color:#6c49fc\" class=\"color\">treated<\/span><\/strong>. C&#8217;cure is mainly inspired by Overcooked. Its purpose is to raise awareness of waste treatment in a medical environment.
